Keurig B70 Coffee Machine FeaturesAs with all Keurigs, the B70 uses the patented K-cups system, which offers a huge variety of pre-measured coffee, tea and cocoa blends. It features a simple one touch control panel and an attractive blue backlit LCD display.
Five brew size options are available, starting at 3-1/4 ounce right up to an 11-1/4 ounce travel mug. A digital clock allows you to program the machine to turn on and off at pre-determined times. You can choose the brew temperature, selecting between 187 degrees F up to 192 degrees F.
The removable 60-ounce water reservoir holds enough water for up to 10 cups, and like other Keurig products in this series there’s a handy descale indicator.

Verdict
The Keurig B70 makes excellent coffee when it works. Reliability remains a concern though, more so apparently in this model than in the cheaper B40 and B60 models. If you don’t need the extra brew sizes and you’re happy with the 48-ounce reservoir of the smaller models, you may wish to consider one of them instead. Of course, chances are your B70 lasts you a good 3 or 4 years as is often the case. You just never know.

Keurig B40 Elite PerformanceThis is a gourmet coffee machine, as the price would suggest, so you should expect the unit to be a bit noisy as there’s a lot of pressure going on inside it. The Keurig B40 is extremely easy to use. The water reservoir is great for boiling water quickly, adding another added bit of versatility to the machine.
The strength of the coffee it brews will depend largely on personal taste. Some find the K-cup coffee too weak, others are perfectly happy with it. You don’t HAVE to use K-cups though, as reusable filters are available for use with your own grinds and blends. The machine takes only 3-4 minutes to warm up and start producing coffee.
A good idea we found for making a large cup of coffee (16 oz.) is to just cycle the machine through the 8 oz. setting twice. So, don’t be put off by the lack of cup sizes as you can work around it in some cases.
Concerns
Durability seems to be one of the main concerns with Keurig coffee brewers. In our experience this is often down to poor maintenance by the user. We also urge you to take the recommendation by Keurig of using only filtered or drinking water instead of tap water in the machine very seriously. The Keurig B40 is not a quiet machine, but that is to be expected in a high pressure coffee brewer.

One recommendation we urge you to take seriously is to use filtered water instead of tap water in the machine. While it may sound like a bit of an inconvenience, it can prolong the life of the product. Be aware that K-cups can be expensive depending on where you shop.
