The Keurig B70 is the most feature rich and expensive of the Keurig B-series single cup coffee brewers. While it is a fantastic coffee machine, is it worth the expense over its cheaper brothers? Read on to find out.
As with all Keurigs, the B70 uses the patented K-cups system, which offers a huge variety of pre-measured coffee, tea and cocoa blends. It features a simple one touch control panel and an attractive blue backlit LCD display.
Five brew size options are available, starting at 3-1/4 ounce right up to an 11-1/4 ounce travel mug. A digital clock allows you to program the machine to turn on and off at pre-determined times. You can choose the brew temperature, selecting between 187 degrees F up to 192 degrees F.
The removable 60-ounce water reservoir holds enough water for up to 10 cups, and like other Keurig products in this series there’s a handy descale indicator.Keurig B70 Coffee Maker Performance
Using the Keurig B70 is very easy. When you’re ready to begin, you just insert an appropriate K-cup and select your brew size. The machine looks stylish and modern and it brews an excellent cup of coffee really fast. It keeps the water hot between cups so you can quickly dish up different brews for your guests without too much fiddling.
You are not limited to the K-cups, even though there is a huge selection available. By using a reusable K-cup filter you can use your own coffee blends in the Keurig B70.
Cleanup is really easy and the parts are dishwasher friendly.
Reliability remains a concern with Keurig products. The company does do a very good job of honoring the warranty even beyond the standard one year period, but just be aware that a fair amount of people are skeptical about the reliability of the Keurig B70.
On Amazon.com, the Keurig B70 Coffee Maker has received 663 reviews at the time of this writing. This includes 455 four and five star reviews, giving the product a 68% customer satisfaction rating.
The Keurig B70 makes excellent coffee when it works. Reliability remains a concern though, more so apparently in this model than in the cheaper B40 and B60 models. If you don’t need the extra brew sizes and you’re happy with the 48-ounce reservoir of the smaller models, you may wish to consider one of them instead. Of course, chances are your B70 lasts you a good 3 or 4 years as is often the case. You just never know.
If all you want is a hassle-free, great cup of coffee brewed fast and efficiently, the Keurig B40 may just be the perfect one cup coffee maker for you. With overwhelmingly positive customer feedback and a strong brand name behind it, let’s see what makes this such a special coffee machine.
Similar to the other Keurig machines in this series, the B40 is a 1500W coffee brewing system that delivers one cup at a time. Thanks to the patented K-cups you can also brew tea, adding to the versatility of the machine. It features a 48 ounce water reservoir (removable) and a removable drip tray.
Two options are available for brew sizes, 8 oz. and 10 oz . A handy descale indicator lets you know when the machine needs cleaning, and there’s a 2-hour automatic shut-off function.Keurig B40 Elite Performance
This is a gourmet coffee machine, as the price would suggest, so you should expect the unit to be a bit noisy as there’s a lot of pressure going on inside it. The Keurig B40 is extremely easy to use. The water reservoir is great for boiling water quickly, adding another added bit of versatility to the machine.
The strength of the coffee it brews will depend largely on personal taste. Some find the K-cup coffee too weak, others are perfectly happy with it. You don’t HAVE to use K-cups though, as reusable filters are available for use with your own grinds and blends. The machine takes only 3-4 minutes to warm up and start producing coffee.
A good idea we found for making a large cup of coffee (16 oz.) is to just cycle the machine through the 8 oz. setting twice. So, don’t be put off by the lack of cup sizes as you can work around it in some cases.
Durability seems to be one of the main concerns with Keurig coffee brewers. In our experience this is often down to poor maintenance by the user. We also urge you to take the recommendation by Keurig of using only filtered or drinking water instead of tap water in the machine very seriously. The Keurig B40 is not a quiet machine, but that is to be expected in a high pressure coffee brewer.
At Amazon.com, this product has collected 476 customer reviews at the time of this writing. Of those, 375 are four and five star reviews, giving the Keurig B40 a customer satisfaction rating of 78%. In other words, 8 out of 10 buyers are pleased with the product.
Even though we like the extra cup size provided by the more expensive B60 model, the Keurig B40 Elite is a great one cup coffee brewer if lack of cup sizes aren’t a major concern for you. Highly recommended.Sale Price:Too low to display
The Keurig B60 Special Edition coffee maker is a single cup coffee brewer that is perfect for home use. Out of the 3 main Keurig models, the other two being the B40 and B70, this is by far the most popular one, and for good reason. Let’s see why.
The Keurig B60 Special Edition coffee maker is a powerful 1500W single cup coffee brewing appliance. It features a removable water reservoir with a 48-ounce capacity, as well as a removable drip tray.
You get three convenient options for different brew sizes. A handy descale indicator helps you determine when the unit needs maintenance, and it also features a 2-hour automatic shut-off. The use of Keurig’s patented K-cups means less mess, grinding and cleanup.Keurig B60 Special Edition Performance
First off, the Keurig B60 simply looks fantastic. Modern and stylish, it will liven up any kitchen and you’ll love showing it off to your guests.
The Keurig is not just a coffee brewer, and the fact that you can also use tea K-cups in it makes it more versatile than most coffee brewers. We also found that it heats water extremely quickly, so you can even use it for that purpose instead of using a kettle.
You are not only limited to using K-cups though, and filters are available that you can use for your own grinds and blends. Keep in mind that this is a single cup brewing system, so there is no pot. Testing the Keurig B60 on all three cup sizes, it delivered great tasting coffee every time. The water reservoir holds roughly enough water for 8 cups.
The brewer also warms up really fast, and you can have a warm cup of delicious coffee first thing in the morning with 3-4 minutes of switching the machine on.
There are concerns about the reliability of Keurig products, but people who experience this is a small minority in the vast sea of positive feedback on this brand. One recommendation we urge you to take seriously is to use filtered water instead of tap water in the machine. While it may sound like a bit of an inconvenience, it can prolong the life of the product. Be aware that K-cups can be expensive depending on where you shop.
The Keurig B60 brewer is a somewhat expensive machine, but in our opinion the best brand and best performer your money can buy.
On Amazon.com, this product has amassed a whopping 1004 reviews at the time of this writing. Of those, 74% are four and five star reviews, meaning that the Keurig B60 Special Edition provides an overwhelmingly positive customer experience.
If you don’t need a timer option or the ability to brew small size cups, you may be well advised to consider the Keurig B40 instead. If 5 brew sizes and a 60-ounce reservoir sounds important to you, the more expensive B70 may be the machine for you. For us though, the Keurig B60 Special Edition strikes the perfect balance between features and cost, and its popularity seems to suggest that most people agree. It’s a stylish looking machine that makes wonderful coffee fast and hassle free.Sale Price:$119.00
